The Paley Honors: Tribute to Tyler Perry

Last night, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex attended The Paley Honors to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of her dear friend Tyler Perry, whose groundbreaking work has had a lasting impact on the entertainment industry and beyond. The event was hosted by a distinguished committee, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Ariel Emanuel, Jon Feltheimer, Whoopi Goldberg, Taraji P. Henson, Matt Johnson, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Gayle King, Debra L. Lee, Mellody Hobson, George Lucas, Scott Mills, The Honorable Nicole Avant, Ted Sarandos, and Kerry Washington.

Perry, renowned for his creation of Tyler Perry Studios and his long career of producing content that champions diverse voices, has made an indelible mark on Hollywood. His recent Netflix film The Six Triple Eight, which tells the powerful story of the all-Black women’s battalion who served in World War II, is a testament to his commitment to telling untold stories that reflect the experiences of underrepresented communities.
