Invictus Games: Düsseldorf

Sep. 2023

Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were honored to join over 500 wounded and injured service members, veterans, and more than 2000 friends and family at the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023.

Over the course of the week, they heard countless stories of resilience, met inspiring families from across the globe, and witnessed lives being changed. They cheered on competitors from Nigeria to Poland, Colombia to Australia, and spent time with local community members, as well as meeting with global dignitaries supporting their nations.

The Invictus Games was founded in 2014 by Prince Harry, who served ten years in the British Army. In the last decade, he has served as Founding Patron and the Games have grown to reach 23 nations across six continents, supporting thousands of service members and veterans in their recovery through the power of sport, competition, and community. The Invictus Games Foundation also empowers recovery of service members and veterans year-round through opportunities in sport and adventurous challenges, which enables them to rediscover purpose and belonging.

The Duke and Duchess look forward to celebrating the first-ever Winter hybrid Games in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025.
