Daejeon, Korea to host Invictus Games 2029

Statement from Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Founder and Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation

The selection of the Republic of Korea to host the Invictus Games Daejeon 2029 marks an exciting new chapter for the Invictus Movement. Since 2014, we’ve seen the power of sport to support recovery, challenge perceptions of disability and build a global community united by resilience, service and hope. Bringing the Games to Asia will allow that mission to reach even further.

Our focus now is on Birmingham 2027, where we’ll celebrate the extraordinary determination of our competitors in the city that helped shape our community. Daejeon 2029 will build on that legacy, expanding the reach and impact of the Invictus Movement.

The Games are only part of the story. The Invictus Games Foundation works year-round to support wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans, helping them stay connected, harness the power of sport, build confidence and develop the skills, resilience and sense of purpose that prepare them for new opportunities, including employment, leadership and continued service in their communities.

When one person is empowered to heal, the impact extends far beyond the individual. Families are strengthened, communities benefit, and the example of recovery inspires others to believe that life after injury or illness can be defined not by limitation, but by possibility.

As we look ahead to Birmingham, Daejeon and beyond, we continue to grow a movement that reminds every member of our community that recovery is possible, strength is found in one another, and no one has to face that journey alone.
